Paul McMahon has advised on numerous legal and compliance issues for businesses in most sectors and for individuals over the last 25 years. This has ranged from general compliance obligations in relation to matters such as companies law, tax and employment to compliance with sector-specific licensing and regulatory issues.

Paul McMahon has a long-standing interest in law, regulation and policy from a legal, social and economic perspective.  In the 1990s, he worked extensively on a project to Irish legislation onto CD-ROM and was a consultant for one of the principal legal publishers in tendering for that work.

Paul brings a cross-disciplinary approach and perspective on legal risk management and compliance.  He advises on best practice in many areas where the applicable law and legislation is far from clear.

Paul has written the Irish Legal Guide, which is by far the most comprehensive guide to Irish law and tax. Future releases of modules of this work, which are already fully written, include detailed accounts of most areas of public administration as well as summaries of the legislation applying in most sectors, such as financial services, energy, transport, communications, hospitality and regulated professions.

Paul assists organisations in relation to legal compliance and training in their sector. Paul holds a Certificate in Professional Education and is experienced in writing and presenting on a range of matters relevant to businesses.

Paul has undertaken and delivered  Continuous Professional Development lectures and training in law, tax and financial services annually for over 20 years. He has written materials,  lectured and undertaken over 20 hours a year training for the Law Society on several courses, for many years.

Paul has presented on Brexit related issues to the Law Society’s annual CPD conference,  several chambers of commerce and across the country in ISME’s series of Brexit Briefings.
